US President Donald Trump said on Friday that Volodymyr Zelensky does not support Washington's plan to resolve the conflict in Ukraine, stressing that the entire Ukrainian people support it, with the exception of him.
"Actually, with the exception of Zelensky, people are very happy with the idea of a deal," Trump said at a White House press conference, explaining that the United States is getting closer to reaching a solution to settle the crisis.
Trump added during another speech: "We don't want to waste a lot of time. We think this is a negative thing. We want to resolve this issue. We are very close to reaching an agreement with Russia, and we are also very close to reaching an agreement with Ukraine."
The US president continued: "We will go to the meeting on Saturday in Europe if we believe there is a good chance of success, and we don't want to waste a lot of time."
