Transport ministry to develop 156 railway stations

CAIRO, AUG 24 (SEE)- The spokesman for the Ministry of Transport Mohammed Ezz said on Friday that the National Railway Authority is developing and maintaining 156 railway stations with a total cost of EGP one billion as part of the ministry's plan to improve the service provided to the public.

Ezz added that the total cost estimate for upgrading 23 stations is EGP 451 million. "13 stations are complete, and the other 10 will be complete by June 2019," he said.

He pointed out that the cost of upgrading the other 133  stations is EGP 626 million.

The upgrading will include the establishment of new sidewalks, railroad signs, ramp for passengers with special needs in addition to the renovation of benches, buildings and lighting platforms.
