The 8th death anniversary of actor Sami El-Adl, popularly known as Santosh Kumar is observed on Monday, July 10.
The actor had been battling cancer for a long years and died due to complications arising from the illness.
Born in Mansoura, in 1946, El-Adl cemented his place as one of the top actors in the Arab world pretty early on in his career.
In a career that spanned more than 45 years, the filmmaker helmed such classic movies as 'Al Batal' (1997), The Dealer (2010) and 'Ashab wala Business' (2001).
He won much praise for his performances in films like The Strawberry War, and Hysteria.
He has also had roles in several television series like Raya and Sakina, Mahmoud El Masry, 'Souk Al-Khodaar', 'Tofahet Adam' and The Preacher.
His famous films include 'Hurub Mawmia' (frar mawmya'), 'Salam Murabbae Llstat', 'Al-Kibar', 'Al-Dealer', 'Azmet Sharaf' and 'Al-Kibar'
Apart from acting, he also established a production company in the late 1980s, calling it “El-Adl Film” before Sami’s three brothers set up the now-famous El-Adl Group in 1997, which produced more than 18 films and 26 television series.
He died on July 10, 2015, but the actor's legacy is inspiring everyone.
