Lebanese singer Abdo Yaghi has been named the winner of the first season of “The Voice Senior”, the Arabic edition of the German popular talent show “The Voice Senior”.

On October 7, the show aired on the “MBC 1” satellite channel with the judging panel consisting of superstars Hany Shaker, Samira Said, Najwa Karam, and Melhem Zein.

“The Voice Senior” is based on the concept of “The Voice” and “The Voice Kids”. The participation is only open to elders aged 60 or above, who will face four different phases: the production audition, the blind audition, the knockouts, and the live finale.

Yaghi from Zein's team was crowned on Wednesday and surpassed his fellow competitors, Suad Hassan (Said's team), Faisal Al Hallaq (Karam's team), and Mervat Kamel (Shaker's team).

He was widely criticized for his participation in the program as an amateur, as he is a well-known singer who graduated "Studio El Fan", a popular Lebanese musical competition program, in the 1970s and has more than 70 songs.

The Arabic version of “The Voice” returned for its Season 5th on September 21, 2019, which is hosted by Jeddah-based presenter Yasser Al-Saqqaf and Nareen Faraj.
