The Russian Cultural Center in Cairo (RCC) paid a tribute to the manager of PR at the centre, and iconic author Natasha Kokas who passed away after battling against disease for five years.
Kokash worked at the centre for 25 years, and she not only worked as a translator, but also she worked as a Russian language teacher for Egyptians, and Arabic language for Russians.

She also translated several tourist pamphlets and promotional films into Russian which helped in getting the Russian tourists back to Egypt.
The ceremony was attended by the Director of the Russian Cultural Centres in Egypt and counsellor of the Russian Embassy Alexey Tevanyan, Head of the Association and the Arab Union for Graduates of Russian and Soviet Universities Sherif Gad, and a number of the late translator colleagues.

Tevanyan highlighted that Kokash was impressive as she drew everyone's attention with his professionalism, commitment, accuracy, and language fluency.
She didn't hesitate to help anyone, she carried good human morals, and she was passionate towards Egypt, and carried its identity as she loved Egyptian people, and carried its nationality, Gad described.
He added that Kokash was a strong supporter and defender of the Egyptian and Russian cultures.
On her side, Kokash's best friend, Anastasia El Gendy, said that the late lady always helped her friends regardless of time and effort cost her.
Finally, she was rewarded with honorary certificates from the RCC, Association and the Arab Union for Graduates of Russian and Soviet Universities, and the first International Russian Child Camp.
Therefore, Tevanyan decided to hang a photo for the late translator in the Department of Translation as a tribute to her and all her unforgettable achievements, in addition to naming the 2022 translation prize by her name.
