"The Batman 2" in Works

The Batman” is getting the sequel treatment.

The sequel sees Matt Reeves returning as director and Robert Pattinson as the Caped Crusader.

Warner Bros. Motion Picture Group Boss Toby Emmerich announced Tuesday during the studio’s CinemaCon presentation in Las Vegas.

“Thank you all for your tremendous support for 'The Batman'. We couldn’t have gotten here without the faith and enthusiasm of all your teams around the world. I’m excited to jump back into this world for the next chapter.” Reeves said in a statement.

The announcement comes at a time when the movie has grossed over $760M worldwide and viewership of 4.1M households on HBO Max in its first week.

"The Batman" is Warner Bros.’ first theatrical-window release since 2020's "Tenet" after the studio adopted a pandemic theatrical day-and-date strategy for its 2021 slate including 2020’s "Wonder Woman 1984".

The movie features the Riddler (Paul Dano), a sadistic serial killer, murdering key political figures in Gotham. That leads Batman to investigate the city’s hidden corruption, which might end up rewriting the Wayne family’s history.

It also features Colin Farrell as s Penguin, Zoë Kravitz as Catwoman, Andy Serkis as Batman/Bruce Wayne’s loyal butler, Alfred, and Geoffrey Wright as Commissioner Gordon

The movie also stars Peter Sarsgaard, John Turturro, and Jeffrey Wright.

It is produced by DC Films and distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures. Matt Reeves helmed the movie from a script he co-wrote alongside Peter Craig.

The runtime for the movie was two hours and fifty-five minutes, making it the longest standalone Batman movie to date.

Moreover, HBO Max is also developing a Batman spinoff series in the works centering around Farrell’s Penguin.
