The region of Hail, Saudi Arabia, attracts lovers of history and archaeology due to its thousands of ancient Thamudic inscriptions dating from the eighth century BC to the third century AD.
It is an open book that narrates the details of the social life to visitors who come to the "Saudi Arabia in winter season.
The Saudi Tourism Authority has launched a campaign of promotion which continues until the end of next March.
Silent rocks convey the features of the social, memorial and commercial life that the Thamudians have been living in for thousands of years, in addition to some of the animals they used to care about or that used to live in their area, such as: " Arabian horses", "Oryx", and camels that were their first means on the go.
Mamdouh Mozauem, a researcher in Thamudic inscriptions and tourist guide, points out that "visiting places that contain inscriptions and drawings is one of the most important priorities for visitors to the Hail region.
Mazoum added that moving between important archaeological sites, which informs them of the history of past nations, and learns the details of their daily events and their social ways of life."
"Among the most prominent sites that contain Thamudic inscriptions are: the city of Jubbah, the mountain of Umm Sinman, which is registered in the UNESCO World Heritage List, the Cave of Janine, and the Gilf Mountains, called and Arnan."
Mazoum pointed out that "the city of Jubbah alone contains more than 5,400 Thamudic inscriptions without Graphics."
He said that among these inscribers are those who specialize in drawing lions, such as the Thamoudian , Hajjaj bin Raghad bin Shadu, and hid compatriot Qain bin Tal bin Hilal, and Hajjaj and Qain are among the most famous Thamudians who specialize in this field.
The Thamoudian women , who are famous for drawing camels are Malha and Salbah.
There are drawings of camels in a life-size and perhaps larger, and there is a Thamoudian inscriber named Saadat who drew big camels in the mountains of Arnan.
It is noteworthy that the Saudi Tourism Authority launched the "Winter Around You" season in more than 17 local destinations to provide more than 300 tourism packages and experiences through more than 200 tour operators and tour operators; to discover the geographical persity in the Kingdom's regions and attractive climatic conditions during the winter season, ranging from mild, pleasant and cold weather, in addition to enjoying the tourism activities prepared for each category of society.
