Tamer Hosny Makes Film Directorial Debut with "Romeo"

Egyptian superstar, Tamer Hosny is making his directorial debut in film with “Romeo”.

Hosny will also write and star in the film.

He is once again teaming up with actress Hannah El Zahed in a new film, who will play his love interest.

The film marks Hosny and El Zahed’s second collaboration after the 2009 TV series “Farq Tawqit”.

“Farq Tawqit” also starred Bayoumi Fouad, Mohsen Mohie Eldein, Afaf Shoaib, Nicole Saba, Dhafer El Abidine, Mai Selim, Ahmed el Saadany, and others.

The TV series was written by Mohamed Soliman Abdul Malek and directed by Islam Khairy.

Hosny was last seen in the film “Mesh Ana”.

It also starred Sawsan Badr, Hala Shiha, Maged El Kedwany, and others.

The film is written by Hosny, directed by Sarah Wafik, and produced by Synergy and HS production.

“Mesh Ana“ revolves around the psychological state of the protagonist, Hassan (Hosny), who has a very strong relationship with his sick mother (Badr) and is always keen to hang out with her as long as possible and take care of her needs, as she is the center of his universe.

The film’s production got suspended several times due to the coronavirus outbreak. It resumed shooting mostly in the Egyptian Media Production City (EMPC), and in the streets of Wust El-Balad and Dokki.
