Syria’s Ministry of Interior announced the destruction of 100 million Captagon pills, marking one of the largest drug busts in the region.

The operation prevented the illegal export of the narcotic tablets to several Arab and Western countries.

According to a statement by the Ministry’s Anti-Narcotics Department, intelligence revealed the presence of Captagon shipments prepared for export through the port of Latakia.

Following thorough investigations, authorities identified storage facilities near the port where the drugs were concealed.

The seized Captagon pills and narcotic powders were found hidden inside children’s toys, highlighting the sophisticated methods employed by traffickers to smuggle illicit substances.

Authorities estimated the total number of pills prepared for export to be 100 million.
