The Antiquities Ministry opened on Sunday an exhibition on Egypt's sunken cities at the hall of Ronald Reagan Presidential Library and Museum in the US State of Los Angeles.

Titled "Sunken Cities: Egypt's Enchanted World," the exhibition, which runs till April 12, 2020, displays around 293 artifacts excavated from the ancient towns of Thonis-Heracleion and Canopus.

Large statues of Egyptian deities Isis and Serapis and the Sphinx, as well as some ornaments and household items, will be also displayed.

Secretary-General of the Supreme Council of Antiquities Mostafa Waziri, who inaugurated the exhibition, invited the US people to visit Egypt and enjoy its hotspots.

"Many attendees asked me about the latest archaeological discoveries and expressed their happiness for developing sites and museums," Waziri said.

He pointed out that such a matter would increase the tourist nights in Cairo.
