Late on Saturday, local authorities in Argentina reported that at least 13 people were killed in a severe storm that struck the country's Atlantic coast.

The Mayor of Bahía Blanca city, Federico Susbielles, confirmed the death toll of 13 people through the social media platform "Twitter."

Susbielles stated, "We urge residents to take preventive measures and avoid using public roads."

According to the newspaper "La Nación," the storm hit the city of Bahía Blanca, located in the southwest of Buenos Aires province, with wind speeds reaching 140 kilometres per hour.

Large parts of the city experienced power outages, and trees and power lines fell due to the strong winds.
