Stephen King’s "Billy Summers" to Be Adapted into Series

Bad Robot production company, owned by producer and director J.J. Abrams, is adapting Stephen King’s bestselling novel "Billy Summers" into a limited series.

The novel is a crime genre published in August 2021. It centers around Billy, an ex-army sniper turned hitman who only kills bad guys. Billy wants out, but first, there is one last hit. The target is Joel Allen, a small-time crook.

The assassin must live a double life in the local community while waiting for his shot but soon grows skeptical of the mobsters who hired him.

Ed Zwick and Marshall Herskovitz will be in charge of adapting the novel with Zwick also serving as a director.

Earlier this year, it was announced that another novel by King is being adapted by Blumhouse Television is on the way.

The production company is also set to take on the novel Later, part of Titan Books’s "Hard Case Crime" series that also includes previous Stephen King novels "The Colorado Kid" and "Joyland". Lucy Liu is set to star in the upcoming series.
