American actress Lucy Liu is set to star in the TV adaptation of Stephen King's novel "Later".

Blumhouse Television has picked up the rights to the author’s 2021 novel, with a pilot script penned by series creator Raelle Tucker.

"Later" revolves around Tia, a literary agency owner who is raising her son Jamie alone and finds herself on the brink of professional ruin when her star author client passes away before handing over the work that will make her agency financially whole.

Luckily Jamie has a supernatural ability that enables him to talk to the dead. He talks to the dead author and feeds the work to his mother, who writes and publishes it under the author’s name.

However, this gift can be used for more nefarious purposes. Tia’s police detective partner figures out what the boy can do and soon the youth gets over his head in the spirit world.

Moreover, Liu is set to star in the Warner Bros DC sequel "Shazam! Fury of the Gods".

She appeared recently in Netflix's "Death to 2021" and in the dark comedy series "Why Women Kill".

There is no release date yet announced for "Later".
