Statistics: UAE Investments in Egypt Grew by 87.1% in 2 Years

Data released by the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics showed an increase in the value of Emirati investments in Egypt to reach $1.8 billion during the fiscal year 2019/2020, compared to $972.2 million during the fiscal year 2018/2019, an increase of 87.1%.

On the other hand, the value of remittances from Egyptians working in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) recorded $3.4 billion during the 2019/2020 fiscal year, compared to $3.1 billion during the 2018/19 fiscal year, an increase of 9.5%, while the value of remittances from Emiratis working in Egypt reached $41 million during the fiscal year 2019/2020, compared to $45.5 million during the fiscal year 2018/19, a decrease of 9.9%.

The statistics indicated that the value of trade exchange between Egypt and the UAE decreased to $3 billion during the first 10 months of 2021, compared to $3.8 billion during the same period in 2020, a decrease of 20.8%.

The value of Egyptian imports from the UAE increased to reach $2 billion during the first 10 months of 2021 compared to $1.2 billion during the same period in 2020, an increase of 64.9%, while the value of Egyptian exports to the UAE decreased to record $1 billion during the first 10 months of 2021 compared to 2.6 billion dollars during the same period in 2020, a decrease of 60.2%.
