The runtime for the highly-anticipated movie "Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse" has been unveiled.

The movie clocks at 2 hours 20 minutes according to AMC's listing of the film. It runs for almost half an hour longer than its predecessor - which had a duration of 1 hour 56 minutes - and becomes the longest major animated film by a Hollywood studio ever.

"Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse" breaks the record for the longest animated movie beating out current title-holder 2012's "Consuming Spirits", which has a duration of 2 hours and 16 minutes.

The movie is the second entry of the two-part sequel to 2018’s “Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse”. It is set to have 240 characters, explore 6 different universes, and has had roughly 1,000 people working on it.

The third movie has already been announced, "Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse", releasing on March 29, 2024. Both upcoming films' villain is said to be The Spot (Jason Schwartzman).

Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse

"Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse" characters Gwen Stacy aka Ghost-Spider (Hailee Steinfeld), Peter B. Parker (Jake Johnson), Miguel O'Hara also referred to as Spider-Man 2099 (Oscar Isaac), Jessica Drew who's best known as Spider-Woman (Issa Rae), and Hobart 'Hobie' Brown who is Spider-Punk (Daniel Kaluuya).

The sequel will follow Miles Morales, (voiced by Shameik Moore), the protagonist of the original movie as he groups up with Miguel O’Hara (Isaac), “Spider-Man 2099”, and Spider-Gwen (Steinfeld) to face off with a powerful super-villain.

"Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse" follows Morales' swinging into the Multiverse where he encounters a team of Spider-People. The team has been charged with protecting the existence of the Multiverse. Though it becomes a sticky situation as the Spider-People clash on how to handle a new threat. Miles is left to redefine his definition of a hero.

Alonzo Ruvalcaba is set to co-produce along with the producers of the first movie Phil Lord, Chris Miller, Amy Pascal, Avi Arad, and Christina Steinberg.

“Spider-Verse” director Peter Ramsey is also returning as an executive producer alongside Aditya Sood.

Moreover, Lord and Christopher Miller will serve as writers on the movie along with David Callaham. Joaquim Dos Santos, Kemp Powers, and Justin K. Thompson directed the movie. Distributed by Sony Pictures Entertainment Motion Picture Group and Sony Pictures Releasing. The music is composed by Daniel Pemberton.

"Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse" premieres June 2.
