Egypt's President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi has wished United Kingdom (UK) Prime Minister Boris Johnson a speedy recovery a day after being moved to Intensive Care Unit (ICU) with COVID-19.

"I wish a speedy recovery for @BorisJohnson, UK Prime Minister, who strongly leads his country in the fight against Coronavirus," Sisi wrote on Facebook and Twitter."I would like to point out that Egypt values efforts exerted by Britain under the leadership of Johnson to curb the spread of this virus."

"I also affirm the solidarity of all in confronting this pandemic, which has united humanity as a whole towards one goal," the president continued.

It is worth mentioning that, Johnson was moved to (ICU) on Monday after his condition “worsened,”, according to his official spokesperson.

“Over the course of this afternoon, the condition of the PM has worsened and based on the advice of his medical team, he has been moved to the ICU at the hospital,” the spokesperson revealed.

The British PM was infected with coronavirus on March 27 and was admitted to hospital for tests yesterday as he continued to suffer symptoms of the virus.

Before he was moved to ICU,  Johnson asked the Foreign Secretary and First Secretary of State Dominic Raab to assume his role.
