President Abdel Fattah El Sisi reaffirmed Egypt’s commitment to working toward de-escalation in the region during a meeting in Cairo with Sultan Mufaddal Saifuddin, leader of the Dawoodi Bohra community, along with his sons and senior representatives.

During the meeting, the President welcomed the Sultan and praised the longstanding ties between Egypt and the Bohra community, highlighting their contributions to the restoration of historic mosques and shrines of Ahl al-Bayt, as well as their broader development and charitable activities across the country. He stressed Egypt’s continued commitment to preserving and developing these religious and cultural sites, while facilitating the community’s ongoing efforts.

Sultan Mufaddal Saifuddin expressed appreciation for the warm reception he consistently receives in Egypt, noting the importance of ongoing restoration projects and reaffirming his interest in increasing the number of Bohra visitors to Egypt for cultural, religious, and tourism purposes.

Regional developments were also discussed during the meeting, where President El Sisi underscored Egypt’s keenness to reduce tensions and support efforts aimed at restoring stability. The Sultan, in turn, praised Egypt’s role in promoting peace and security, commending its continuous efforts to build a more stable future for the region.
