President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi affirmed that Egypt’s economic situation is improving despite the complex regional challenges of recent years, including the COVID-19 pandemic, the Russia-Ukraine war, and the ongoing conflict in Gaza.
During an inspection tour of the Egyptian Military Academy at the Strategic Command Headquarters in the New Administrative Capital, El-Sisi emphasized that Egyptians’ awareness and understanding serve as the nation’s “true ammunition,” providing the willpower and strength to persevere and work toward progress.
“Our region is now at a crossroads,” El-Sisi said, underscoring the importance of maintaining a high level of public awareness in the face of regional instability. He praised Egypt’s youth, describing them as the foundation upon which the country’s future will be built, and urged them to value their potential and contribute to national development.
The President noted that the state’s institutions form an interconnected and integrated system, and highlighted the Egyptian Military Academy as a platform not only for preparing future military officers but also for training cadres for civilian state institutions.
He also pointed to the recent establishment of the Military Medical College for civilian students as a response to public demand, explaining that the institution offers education combined with discipline, protection, and values of service.
El-Sisi said Egypt continues to develop specialized programs such as the upcoming “Digital Pioneers” initiative and the expansion of the Military Medical College to accommodate 500 students, reflecting the country’s investment in modern education and human capital.
Addressing economic matters, the President acknowledged that Egypt’s economy has been affected by external shocks, particularly the decline in Suez Canal revenues by approximately $9 billion over the past two years due to global disruptions in trade. However, he maintained that “despite all challenges, conditions are improving, and they will continue to improve.”
He urged Egyptians to remain patient and resilient, citing examples of countries that overcame economic hardship through persistence and hard work. “Nations change through determination, effort, and patience,” he said.
El-Sisi also reassured citizens about Egypt’s internal stability, saying that national security has strengthened and that the government closely monitors public sentiment and regional developments.
“Egypt does not conspire against anyone,” he asserted. “The Egyptian people are peaceful by nature, but they are resilient and cannot be harmed.”
Concluding his remarks, the President called on all social institutions, including the media, mosques, and churches, to continue fostering awareness and contributing to positive change.
“The level of awareness among Egyptians is our greatest bet,” El-Sisi said. “Awareness gives us strength, endurance, and the ability to make sound judgments about our future.”
