Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry, and his Syrian counterpart Faysal Mikdad held talks on Friday for the first time since the crisis in Syria, RT reported on Saturday.
On the sidelines of the activities of the 76th Session of the UN, Mikdad asserted the importance of the relations between both friendly countries.
Moreover, he reviewed the developments of the Syrian crisis and the importance of intensifying efforts to end the crisis in Syria without harming the state's sovereignty and territorial integrity.
It is worthy mentioning that the Spokesperson of the Foreign Affairs Ambassador Ahmed Hafez announced that Shoukry and Mikdad set a meeting together to discuss possible ways to end the crisis in Syria at the headquarter of the Egyptian mission in New York.
