Shisha Bars Shootings Perpetrator Found Dead at His Home

At least 10 people were killed and four others were injured in multiple shootings late on Wednesday in the German city of Hanau, police have reported.

The attacker opened fire in a shisha bar in the city centre, then he moved to another bar and carried out the second shooting.

Police found the suspect dead at his father's home in Hanau after launching a major manhunt. Another body was found at the location, the motive behind the shooting is unclear.

The suspect was a German citizen, according to German tabloid Bild.

The newspaper added that ammunition and gun magazines were found in his car, as well as a firearms hunting license.

The paper also claimed that some of the victims of the attack were young people, including one woman, and some were from a Kurdish background.

Police have not confirmed any of the victims' details.

Police have said that one of the victims injured in the attacks has died, pushing the death toll at the scene to nine. Officers then found another body along with the suspect at a home address in Hanau, bringing the total number of victims to ten.

Suspect found dead

German police have confirmed that a suspect was found dead at his home in Hanau. Officials tweeted:

"Suspected culprit was found lifeless at his home address in #Hanau. Special police officers also discovered another body there. The investigation is ongoing. There are currently no indications of other perpetrators."

Gunman rang the doorbell

At Arena Bar, the site of the second shooting, a gunman reportedly rang the doorbell and shot people in the smoking area, killing five people including a woman, according to Bild.

"The victims are people we have known for years," the bar manager's son told news agency DPA.
