Shell Egypt Announces Agreement to Develop Phase 11 of West Delta Deep Concession

Shell Egypt and its partners, including the Egyptian Natural Gas Holding Company (EGAS), the Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation, and Petronas, announced an agreement to begin development of the 11th phase of the West Delta Deep Concession area in the Mediterranean Sea.

Dalia El-Gabry, Chairman of Shell Egypt, said: “Shell is proud to continue its long-term collaboration with the Egyptian government and our partners to unlock the full potential of the West Delta Deep Concession Area. Phase 11 represents a major investment in securing additional gas supplies for Egypt’s energy system, and we continue our commitment by completing this project with the highest standards of efficiency and safety.”

It should be noted that Shell and its partners have developed the West Delta Deep Concession area in 11 phases. The concession includes 17 gas fields, located at water depths ranging from 300 meters to 1,200 meters and extending approximately 90-120 kilometers offshore.
