Sharm El Sheikh was one of the top 10 destinations for the Ukrainian tourists in August, according to Kharkiv Airport.
In a post on the airport’s Facebook page, the top 10 list included Antalya, Istanbul, Barcelona, Krakow, Warsaw, Vienna, and Tel Aviv.
The total passenger flow in 8 months of this year was 823,700 travelers, 29 % higher than the same period of last year.
The growing number of Ukrainian tourists in Egypt, especially in Sinai coastal resorts like Sharm El Sheikh, plays a significant role in boosting the tourism sector.
According to Kyiv Post, the Ukrainian holidaying families tend to enjoy the Red Sea resort’s turquoise water and sunshine in light of the affordable prices of trips to Egypt.
Tourism in the Red Sea resorts had witnessed a boom after a series of procedures taken by the Tourism Ministry and foreign governments to ease travel to these destinations.
For example, Hurghada topped German tourists’ bookings in the last-minute summer holidays in July.
Also, earlier this year, Germany had lifted a travel ban on which prevented its nationals from traveling to Taba, South Sinai.
Such rankings are indicators of Egyptian tourism’s success and prove its great return to global tourism in light of the Tourism Ministry’s keenness on opening new markets to attract more tourists.
