See Lists Best-Selling Novels Following CIBF51 Completion

Following the completion of the Cairo International Book Fair (CIBF51), "See" listed the best-selling novels and award-winning books that caught the attention of bibliophiles.

On the occasion of selecting Gamal Hamdan as the exhibition's personality, his encyclopedia "Egypt's Personality" marked its highest clearances since its first publication, after the General Book Authority decided to republish it at a very suitable price "140 pounds".

Also, the Russian translated dramas witnessed a reawakening interest among the audience, including Dostoevsky's works, in addition to "Soviet Russian Literature", "The Russian Idea".

The "Ḥamasah" anthology, "The Incoherence of the Incoherence" and "The Incoherence of the Philosophers" broke record sales.

The National Center for Translation also reported formidable sellouts for its publications "Memoirs of Napoleon", "Thus Spoke Zarathustra", "Teachings of Hafiz" & "History of Philosophy in Islam" and "On Generation and Corruption".

The award-winning novels were: "Tamar" by Dar Al Arabi Publishing, "Madar El-Alb" by Levant publishers, "Journalism and the African Media" for Awatef Abdel Rahman, "Trends of Narration in the Egyptian Novel" by the General Egyptian Book Organization.

Also, “This is how ISIS speaks" by Muhammad Abu Al-Ela Salmoni won the best play, and "Kitāb al Mughnī by Ibn Al-Bitar" won the best heritage book.

Other new best-selling books at the CIBF were: "Ta'em el-Noum" by Tarek Imam, "Ayam Fe Beet El-Mohtarm" by TV Presenter Shafky El-Moneiry," "Kont Shabban Fel Tamaninat" by Mahmoud Abdel Shakour, "Uncommon Type" by Tom Hanks, "El Hareef" by Ibrahim Fayek, “Hekayat Hares el Kotob” by Emad El-Adly, “Azizi El-Muharer” by Mahmoud Abdel-Razik, “Aly & Safia” by Mohamad Tawfiq, “Turath Al-Estela'a” by Saeed Al-Masry, “El-Neswa Allati” by Wagdy El-Koumi, “Tamar” by Mai Khaled, “El-Wasayah” by Adel Esmat, "Nietzsche Chocolate" by Saber Roshdy, Rasha Adly's "Shaghaf", "Saleb Mousa" for Haitham Dabour, as well as "Mn allm Abdel Nasser Shoreb Sagayer" for Omar Taher.

 

The Book Fair was held between January 23 and February 4th; the fair's Guest of Honour will be transferred from Senegal to Greece in its 52nd edition next year.
