Second Arab Forum on Adult Education, Lifelong Learning Held in Cairo

The Second Arab Forum on Adult Education and Lifelong Learning was held on September 16-17, 2025, at the headquarters of the Arab League in Cairo. The event was organized by the Arab League’s Secretariat General, the Arab Organization for Education, Culture, and Science (ALECSO), and the Arab Bureau for Research and Studies.

The forum focused on the "Second Arab Charter for Literacy and Adult Education," where delegates discussed frameworks, goals, and strategies for implementation. Key topics included aligning regional policies with international frameworks like the Sustainable Development Goals and the Marrakech Framework for Adult Learning.

Experts and representatives from across the Arab world presented national experiences and research aimed at enhancing adult education and promoting lifelong learning. ALECSO also presented its ten-year vision for educational development from 2023 to 2035, with a focus on improving literacy and learning outcomes across the Arab region.
