Paramount Pictures released Tuesday the final trailer for the fifth installment of the “Scream” franchise.
The new installment takes place twenty-five years after a streak of brutal murders shocked the quiet town of Woodsboro, a new killer takes the Ghostface mask and begins targeting a group of teenagers to resurrect secrets from the town’s deadly past.
The movie sees the return of many beloved characters such as Neve Campbell’s Sidney Prescott, Courteney Cox’s Gale Weathers, and David Arquette’s Deputy Dewey Riley.
It also features newcomers Jack Quaid, Melissa Barrera, Dylan Minnette, Mason Gooding, Kyle Gallner, Sonia Ammar, Mikey Madison, Jasmin Savoy Brown, and Reggie Conquest.
The “Ready or Not” duo Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett is directing from a script by James Vanderbilt and Guy Busick.
The latest installment is also produced by Vanderbilt, Chad Villella, Paul Neinstein, and William Sherak.
The original Scream screenwriter Kevin Williamson will also serve as an executive producer.
“Scream 5” will debut in theaters on January 14.
