Saudi Arabia won, on Tuesday, to host the “International Expo 2030” exhibition in Riyadh, after it significantly outperformed Rome in Italy and Busan in Korea during the first round of voting that took place in the “Palace of Congresses” in the city of Issy-les-Moulineaux, near the French capital, Paris.

The victory of the Saudi capital came after obtaining 119 votes in the secret electronic ballot of the 180 member states of the International Bureau of Exhibitions, which comes in accordance with the principle of “one vote for each country,” after the three parties presented their files for the last time on Tuesday afternoon during its general assembly meeting in its 173rd session.

During Saudi Arabia’s presentation of the final presentation of its file, Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan affirmed his country’s commitment to its plans to host Expo 2030 and will turn them into reality, indicating that it will present an exceptional version of the exhibition, focus on sustainable development goals, and launch a set of solutions to develop humanity.

The next World Expo, Expo 2025 Osaka Kansai, Japan, will take place from April 13 to October 13, 2025, under the theme “Designing Future Society for Our Lives”
