The Egyptian Ministry of Agriculture revealed, Tuesday, that Saudi Arabia has lifted restrictions on importing strawberries from Egypt, after the Kingdom put the issuance of import permits for Egyptian strawberries on the platform, as of Thursday, February 1.
The ministry explained in a statement that there was no ban on Egyptian strawberries, adding that the previous decision was an internal regulatory measure related to the Kingdom, and was applied to most agricultural imports to it from all countries of the world.
He added that the decision does not constitute a ban or rejection of strawberry shipments for quarantine or health reasons, but its content is to regulate the internal market in the Kingdom according to supply and demand data.
