Saudi Pro League club Al Ahli have officially announced the departure of Algerian star Riyad Mahrez, bringing an end to his successful three-year spell with the club.

The club confirmed the news in a heartfelt message posted on its official X account, saying: "Thank you, Riyad Mahrez.

Three unforgettable years that will forever remain in the memories of Al Ahli fans." The tribute was accompanied by a video highlighting some of the winger's best goals and memorable moments in the club's colors.

Mahrez joined Al Ahli in the summer of 2023 and quickly established himself as one of the team's standout performers, playing a key role in the club's return to winning major trophies.

During his time with the Saudi side, the 35-year-old made 122 appearances across all competitions, scoring 37 goals and providing 46 assists, becoming one of the club's most influential attacking players.

He also helped Al Ahli capture the AFC Champions League Elite title and the Saudi Super Cup, ending his spell with an impressive collection of silverware.

Mahrez's departure comes just days after he announced his retirement from international football following Algeria's elimination from the 2026 FIFA World Cup in the Round of 32, closing another significant chapter in his illustrious career.
