Samira Ahmed to Be Honored at 70th Egyptian Catholic Film Fest

Veteran Egyptian actress Samira Ahmed is set to be honored at the closing ceremony of the 70th Egyptian Catholic Center Film Festival.

The festival is currently underway and runs through Friday, May 27.

Ahmed, born on January 8, 1963, is one of Egypt and the Middle East's distinguished actresses.

She made her acting debut at a young age and was famous for her roles in the drama and comedy genres.

Among her most distinguished roles are the 1963 film "Umm el-Arusah", the 1998 TV series "Emraa Men Zaman El-Hob", the 2002 TV series "Amira fi Abdeen",  and the 2010 TV series "Mama Fi Al-Qism".
