Nigeria head coach Gernot Rohr said on Tuesday that South Africa are favorite to the Africa Cup of Nations title after they stunned hosts Egypt in the last 16.
"When you defeat strong squad like Egypt, you become the tournament's favorite," Super Eagles coach said in a pre-match news conference in Cairo. "Our clash against Bafana Bafana in the last eight of the tournament will be difficult," Rohr added.
"Of course, we have South Africa game against Egypt, and we know them very well because we played them before," the German coach asserted.
"We made several mistakes in the previous games, but football is a game that has some mistakes. Goals are not scored in tactical errors or the distribution of the players, but inpidual mistakes," he noted.
On his part, Super Eagles striker Odion Ighalo confirmed that South Africa's match would be difficult. "We are happy to see Egypt's fans support us. We are preparing very well for this clash because it will be very difficult and against a strong team," Ighalo said.
