On Wednesday, the Romanian Ministry of Business Environment, Commerce, and Entrepreneurship indicated that Egypt is a promising market with geopolitical and geoeconomic importance and discussed how to make Romanian companies be more familiar with Egyptian markets so that they can make use of Egypt as a regional hub of their business.

The Romanian Deputy Minister of Business Environment, Commerce, and Entrepreneurship Daniela Niculescu said that her country is keen on boosting economic and trade relations with Egypt, underscoring the mutual understanding between the two countries on the need to advance bilateral relations in industry and economics.

She made these remarks during an official meeting on the sidelines of the Egyptian-Romanian economic forum.

In her address to the Egyptian-Romanian Committee on Oct. 27, the Romanian Deputy Minister Niculescu said: "We have always looked towards enhancing our existing trade relations with Egypt and developing new ones on the basis of mutual benefit."

Egyptian exports to the European country surged to $1107 million in the first half of 2021, versus $72.29 million in the same period of 2020, Niculescu revealed.

Romanian investments in the North African country amounted to $88 million into various projects stretching from services to industrial engineering, packaging products, and other technical services, she added.
