A missile attack targeted Bagram Air Base, a major U.S. air base, located in northern Kabul, Afghanistan, but did not cause casualties or damage.
Afghan and NATO officials said that five missiles were fired at the air base in Parwan State this morning, from 12 missiles that were loaded on a vehicle which was heading towards the base, and the police dismantled the remaining seven.
A NATO official confirmed the missile attack, saying: "Initial reports indicate that there were no casualties and that the air base was not damaged."
No one has yet claimed responsibility for the attack, while the Taliban have denied their involvement.
ISIS has previously claimed responsibility for several attacks in Kabul, including two rocket attacks that struck several residential areas in the capital, resulting in casualties.
The group also claimed responsibility for attacks on two separate educational centers in Kabul, killing dozens, most of them students.
The latest attack came a day after 15 children were killed when a motorcycle bomb exploded near a religious gathering in Ghazni Province (east).
Violence has escalated in Afghanistan in recent months, despite the launch of the government and the Taliban peace talks to end the grinding war in the country.
