Ricky Martin to Star in Comedy TV Series "Mrs. American Pie"

Global superstar Ricky Martin has recently joined the Apple TV+ comedy series "Mrs. American Pie".

Martin will star as the male lead, Robert, and is the latest to be added to a cast list that features Kristen Wiig, Alison Janney, and Laura Dern.

The move is a huge lead role for Martin, who was last seen playing Antonio D’Amico in Ryan Murphy’s critically-acclaimed FX drama "The Assassination of Gianni Versace", part of the American Crime story anthology.

The series is centered around Maxine Simmons, a woman attempting to secure her seat at America’s most exclusive table: Palm Beach high society.

It is a period comedy piece consisting of 10 episodes and is based on the novel by Juliet McDaniel.

The series was developed by Dern and her producing partner Jayme Lemons via their Jaywalker Pictures production company.

Abe Sylvia will write, exec produce, and showrun the series.
