Egypt is reportedly being considered as the host of the Spanish Super Cup after scheduling conflicts prevented the tournament from being held in Saudi Arabia, according to local reports.
The proposed move comes after the tournament's traditional host was unable to stage the competition because of a clash with the 2027 AFC Asian Cup preparations and schedule, prompting organizers to explore alternative venues.
If approved, the four-team competition is expected to take place in February, featuring two high-profile semifinal clashes.
Real Madrid will face Real Sociedad, while Barcelona are set to take on Atlético Madrid, with the winners advancing to the final to compete for the Spanish Super Cup title.
According to the report, discussions over moving the tournament to Egypt are still ongoing, and no final decision has been made regarding the host country.
The possibility of Egypt staging one of Spain's biggest domestic competitions has generated significant interest, with football fans eagerly awaiting an official announcement from the relevant authorities.
The Spanish Super Cup has been held in Saudi Arabia in recent years under an agreement between the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) and Saudi organizers, but the upcoming edition may be relocated if the proposed plan is approved.
