The novel Coronavirus has killed so far more than a million people across the globe and infected more than 33 others.

As the coronavirus continues to spread around the globe, many world leaders, prominent political figures, and celebrities have not been spared.

The following list shows the high-profile global figures that were infected in chronological order:

* Donald and Melania Trump

US President Donald Trump announced early Friday that he and his wife Melania have tested positive for the coronavirus.

“Tonight, @FLOTUS and I tested positive for COVID-19. We will begin our quarantine and recovery process immediately. We will get through this TOGETHER!” Trump tweeted on Twitter.

* Hope Hicks

Trump tweeted Thursday that he and the first lady will enter quarantine as they are waiting for the results of the tests conducted for them after close aide Hope Hicks had tested positive.

* Robert O'Brien

U.S. national security adviser, Robert O'Brien, tested positive for the novel coronavirus, on July 27 making him the most senior White House official to be found positive.

* Jair Bolsonaro

Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro, 65, announced that he had contracted the virus on July 7, months after underestimating the seriousness of the pandemic.

Boris Johnson

*Boris Johnson

British Prime Minister Boris Johnson, 55, tested positive for coronavirus on March 27. He was hospitalized on April 5, after suffering from symptoms of the virus, and spent a week in the hospital, including 3 nights in the intensive care.

* Prince Charles

The Prince of Wales Charles, 71, contracted the virus on March 25. He only displayed mild symptoms and isolated himself for seven days at his residence in Scotland.

*Albert II, Prince of Monaco

Albert II, the reigning Prince of Monaco and head of the princely house of Grimaldi, had tested positive for coronavirus on March 16. He was the first monarch to admit to testing positive.

* Sophie Trudeau

Sophie Trudeau, 45, the wife of Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, tested positive for the disease on March 12. The entire family self-isolate for two weeks.

Celebrities

* Robert Pattinson

British actor Robert Pattinson tested positive for contracted coronavirus, news media reported on September 3, halting production of "The Batman."

*Dwayne Johnson

Pro-wrestler turned Hollywood actor Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson revealed in a video posted on social media that he and his family were diagnosed with the virus, on September 2.

*Antonio Banderas

Antonio Banderas, one of Spain’s most adored actors, announced on August 10, his 60th birthday that he had tested positive for coronavirus and was in quarantine.

*Bryan Cranston

U.S. actor Bryan Cranston stated that he contracted and recovered from the virus in a video posted via Instagram, on July 30.

*Amitabh and Abhishek Bachchan

Amitabh Bachchan, one of India's greatest actor, tested positive for coronavirus together with his actor son Abhishek Bachchan, they announced on July 11.

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and her daughter, Aaradhya

*Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and her daughter Aaradhya

Abhishek announced the following day that his wife, Bollywood actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and their daughter Aaradhya, have contracted coronavirus.

Actor Tony Shalhoub, 66, revealed in May that he and his wife had recovered from coronavirus.

*Pink

American singer Pink, 40, announced on April 5 that she had tested positive for the virus, two weeks prior, and had since recovered.

Italian opera singer Andrea Bocelli, 61, said he felt like he was "living a nightmare" as he battled coronavirus in March.

*Placido Domingo

Spanish opera singer Placido Domingo, 79, revealed on March 22 that he had tested positive and went into self-isolation with his family.

*Idris Elba

British actor Idris Elba, 47, announced on March 16 that he had tested positive, after discovering he had been exposed to someone with the disease.

*Tom Hanks and wife Rita Wilson

Oscar-winning actor Tom Hanks and his wife, actress Rita Wilson, tested positive for the virus in Australia as Hanks made a film about Elvis, on March 12. Both are 63.
