Today marks the late iconic actress Soheir El-Bably's 1st death anniversary.
The late actress is one of the biggest names in Egyptian cinema. Born in 1937, Damietta, El-Bably cemented her place as one of the top most actress in the Arab world pretty early on in her career.
She enrolled at the Institute of Theatrical Arts and the Musical Institute at the same time.
Her versatility, skill, wit, and charm earned her many fans in the Arab region, who love her performances in films like ' Leilet Al-Qabd ala Bakiza wi Zaghloul (The Night of the Arrest of Bakiza and Zaghloul), directed by Mohamed Abdel-Aziz, and 'Eghraa' (Seduction, 1957).
Throughout her career, she played light roles in plays 'Madraset El-Moshakhbeen' (The School of Mischief), Raya and Skina (1982), directed by Hussein Kamal.
Akhtar Ragol fil Allam's star has also had roles in several television series like ' Bakiza wi Zaghloul (1987), with Essad Younis (who also wrote the series), directed by Ahmed Badreddine and starring, besides Younes and El-Bably, Mustafa Metwalli, Salah Qabil, Zouzou Nabil and Hassan Mustafa.
In this series, El-Bably played the role of the widow of a millionaire, Al-Ashmawi, who leaves her a large villa and huge debts as well as a previously unknown daughter with the male name of Zaghloul.
Her famous films include Lokandet Al-Mofagaat (The Hotel of Surprises, 1959), Oyoon La Tanam (Eyes that Don’t Sleep), Amira Hobi Ana (Amira, My Love, 1975), Nahr Al-Hob (Love River), and Leilet Assal (Honey Night).
In the 1990's, she decided to wear the headscarf and declared that she will quit acting.
Her last work is the TV series Qalb Habiba (Habiba’s Heart, 2005).
She passed away on November 21, 2021, due to a coma but the actress' legacy is inspiring everyone.
