Remembering Mahmoud El-Gendi on His Death Anniv.

Today marks the death anniversary of Mahmoud El-Gendi, best known for playing Shawky Radwan in 'Shahd wl Dmo'a' series.

El-Gendi was an excellent performer with over 100 roles to his name.

Born on February 24, 1945, he worked in a factory and then completed his studies at the Higher Institute of Cinema in 1967. The late actor served in the Egyptian Military for seven years, during which he participated in the 1973 war in the Egyptian Air Force.

Throughout his career, El-Gendi featured in several plays including “Antarah”، “Mawloud Al Malik Maarouf”، “Shakespeare fee Al Ataba”، “Alashan Khatir Eyounik”، “Al Maleem bi Arbaa”، “Bahebak ya Mojrim”، “Al Brenseesa”، “Innaha Haqan Aaila Mohtarama”، “Al Rouaab Al Laziz”.

His role Am Salama el-Tafshan in the movie "Shams el Zanaty" starring Adel Imam gained much praise from critics as well as the audience.

El-Gendi is well-known for many hit films, such as “Horoob Eterary” (Forced Escape), “Yom Helww Yom Mor” (Good and bad days), “Uncle Zizo Habiby”, “El-Kerd Beyetkalem” (The monkey is talking), among others.

The star of 'Horoob Eterary' married four times. His last marriage was to Hayam, daughter of actor Gamal Ismail.

El-Gendi died on April 11 at the age of 74, but he lives on through his amazing works.
