CAIRO, Mar. 4 (SEE) - Nubia is a significant part of the land of Egypt as well as its ancient civilization. It is widely believed that Queen Nefertari is of Nubian origin, or originally from southern Egypt.
According to Archeologist Dr. Hussein Bassir, Queen Nefertiti is considered one of the most beautiful, charming, and attractive queens. Her love was so cherished by her husband, late Pharaoh of Egypt, King Ramses II, who lived in the 19th dynasty in the New Kingdom.
Her full name is Nefertari Merit Mut, which means "Nefertari is beloved by Goddess Mott." Its abbreviated acronym, Nefertari, which again means the most beautiful among all.
Her love was so special in the heart of her husband so that she was portrayed along with him in most of his archeological paintings. He also ordered the construction of large and beautiful monuments such as her tomb in the Valley of Queens No. 66 and her temple in Abu Simbel.
Back then, she played a major role in the diplomatic affairs of the ancient Egyptian state, for the various and substantial skills she got, such writing, especially hieroglyphics, reading, as well as knowing rules of diplomatic communications. Her great skills benefited Egypt as well as her husband, who was, then, a great king in the ancient Near East.
Her love and devotion to her husband made their love story one of the greatest stories, which lasted through stone engravings, before getting remembered in literature.
A number of Nubian queens also appeared in the later period of Nubian history. Among them is Queen Amani Reynas, who lived at the end of the first century BC and was buried in the Jebel Barkal area. Also, Queen Amani Shiktu, who lived at the end of the 1st century BC and was buried in the Bagrawiya region, and Queen Nawi Damak, who lived at the beginning of the first century AD, and was buried in the Jebel Barkal area. In addition, there was Queen Amani Tari, who lived in the middle to end of the first century AD and was buried in the region of Baghrawiya. The Nubian queens played a major role in the ancient Egyptian civilization and in Nubia.
