The hosts strengthened the result with a second goal by German Toni Kroos in the 28' of the match. In the 60', Barcelona reduced the score through defender Óscar Mingueza.
Real Madrid ended the match with ten men after Brazilian star Casemiro was sent off for receiving a second yellow card in the last minute, before the extra time.
With this victory, Real Madrid raised its score to 66 points and rose to the top of "LaLiga", equalizing the number of points with its neighbor Atletico, who is a heavy guest over Real Betis on Sunday in the same round.
On the other hand, Barcelona's score froze at 65 points and fell to third place on the League's table.
