CAIRO, Mar. 5 (SEE)-The Minister of Higher Education Khalid Abdul Ghaffar and Minister of Education Tarek Shawki stressed that the discussions of the ongoing Education Conference should be about what is already underway- where there is a real development system.

These remarks came during the participation of both ministers at the Second Education Conference in Egypt under the motto 'Development of Education, Challenges and Prospects for Success'.

The Conference is organized by Akhbar al Youm in tandem with Cairo University under the auspices of Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli.

Abdul Ghaffar confirmed that universities would not be allowed to establish other faculties except for new and non-existent specialties, pointing out to the importance of discussing the new educational technological systems and the matter of new international universities in Egypt.

He noted that the Egyptian universities achieved a progress in terms of international classifications in collaboration with the Knowledge Bank, stressing that the Egyptian state is fully aware of the era of digital transformation.

"We will have special specializations and new faculties. The Faculty of Artificial Intelligence will work at the University of Kafr El-Sheikh," Abdul Ghaffar added.

The minister of Higher Education said that the demand for many specialties in Egypt from European countries and others is still present, such as medicine and engineering as there will be 75 million jobs in the world in 2022.

"Egypt adopted huge projects worth billions in education, health and others to keep pace with this development and digital transformation. To save young people from unemployment, we provide them training courses to find jobs."

On his part, Shawki said that the government is considering unconventional ways to solve problems and that the new education system aims to change the culture of the Egyptian society by developing a vision for education that strives not only to attain grades.

"Education is a means of developing students and developing their mindsets and facing all challenges," he added.

He stressed that the government is encouraging students to rely on themselves to produce a generation of creators, thinkers and scientists, and to launch new evaluation system and the development of educational curricula.

It is worth mentioning that the second edition of the Education in Egypt Conference aims to contribute in increasing the pace of the development of pre-university, university education and supporting the reform process.

At the end of his speech, he invited attendees to participate in the international forum for higher education which is due to be held in April under the patronage of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi.
