‘Ramses & Gold of Pharaohs’ Exhibition Opened in Houston

“Ramses the Great and the Gold of the Pharaohs” exhibition was opened, on Saturday, at the Houston Museum of Natural Science in the United States.

Mostafa Waziry, secretary general of the supreme council of antiquities opened the exhibition in the presence of Egyptologist Zahi Hawass, Ambassador Khaled Rizk, Egypt’s consul in Houston, Lamia Kamel, Assistant Egypt Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, in addition to a number of Egyptologists, businessmen, and public figures.

Waziry affirmed that the exhibition received great attention before the official opening, pointing out that he has followed up all the necessary equipment related to the exhibition to make sure that everything put in the right place.

On his part, Hawaas expressed his great happiness with the exhibition and the way artifacts were displayed in it, describing it as one of the most beautiful exhibitions that have been held for Egyptian antiquities abroad so far.

Moreover, Kamel indicated that the hall had been equipped with a number of display screens, which will display the effectiveness of the tourism promotion in Luxor, the "Royal Processions Road" known as the Rams Road, which is scheduled for this November 25, so that visitors to the exhibition can view this grand celebration.

The exhibition organizers noted that 8000 tickets were sold during the first few hours of opening, adding that about 700,000 visitors are expected to visit the exhibition in Houston.

Notably, the hall in which the exhibition is being held in Houston has an area of 3,000 square meters.
