Railway Authority Announces Reducing Trains Speed due to High Temperatures

The Egyptian National Railway Authority issued instructions to train conductors to reduce the speed limit of trains on most lines due to the high temperature, which affects the rails and equipment.

The authority stressed that this measure is necessary to avoid any emergency and to preserve the public safety of passengers and the safety of equipment, adding that the train will return to the scheduled speed once the temperature drops.

The authority explained - in a statement published by the Ministry of Transport Friday - that temperatures are monitored on a daily basis and around the clock, and the extent of their impact on the lines, especially Upper Egypt, through emergency teams.

Meantime, the authority confirmed that the movement of trains is regular on all lines of Upper and Lower Egypt.
