Radio Networks Achieve 189.8 Thousand Broadcast Hours 2021/2022

Today, Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics issued a press release for "World Radio Day", which is celebrated on February 13 annually, and which was approved by UNESCO. Despite the technological development and the impact of phone screens and social media, this did not affect the presence of the radio. It is a mean that we can follow whenever we want because of its privacy, so no other medium can compete with it as it is so close to its audience, and it is the companion of the path of all nations on all their cultural and social levels and the connection to radio will remain strong with no decline.This year, 2023 celebration takes place under the theme (Broadcasting and Peace )

International indicators: -

-3 billion and 41 million radio listeners around the world during 2022, compared to 3 billion and 17 million listeners in 2021, an increase of about 24 million listeners, an increase of 0.8%.

- An hour and a minute is the average time spent by Internet users in the world listening to the radio per day in 2022 .

- 371 hours and 5 minutes, the average time spent by Internet users in the world listening to the radio in 2022.

Among the most important statistical indicators of National Media Authority are the following:

- Number of radio networks reached 10 networks, with a total number of audio broadcasting 189.8 thousand hours in 2021/2022.

-The regional network occupied the largest share, with 66445 hours of transmission hours, of the total radio broadcasting hours, at a rate of

36.70%, with a daily average of 182.2 hours, followed by the directed foreign radio network, which reached to 22265 hours, or 12.30%, with a daily average of 61 hours 2021/2022.
