Qatar has lodged a formal complaint with the United Nations Security Council regarding Israeli aggression and called for an emergency session to address the ongoing attacks, according to media reports on Wednesday.
European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen also voiced strong condemnation, stating that “deliberate starvation in Gaza must never be used as a weapon of war and must stop immediately.” She added that what is happening in Gaza “has shaken the conscience of the world,” announcing that the EU will suspend bilateral support to Israel and propose sanctions targeting extremist Israeli ministers.
Von der Leyen further revealed plans to partially suspend the EU-Israel Partnership Agreement in matters related to trade as part of the bloc’s response to Israel’s actions.
Israeli Drone Strikes Kill Civilians in Gaza
Meanwhile, Palestinian news agency WAFA reported that at least five Palestinians were killed and several others injured after an Israeli drone strike hit a tent sheltering displaced families on Al-Nasr Street in northwest Gaza City.
Another drone targeted a displacement camp near the Al-Ahli Baptist Hospital in Gaza’s Palestine Square, killing one person and wounding several others.
In central Gaza, one civilian was killed and others injured after a drone strike on a residential apartment in Al-Bureij refugee camp. In Deir Al-Balah, an Israeli airstrike killed a child and injured others after hitting a tent near the Technical College.
The latest incidents add to the mounting civilian toll as international pressure grows on Israel to end its military campaign in Gaza, with Qatar and the EU now calling for accountability at the global level.
