Qatar Chamber announced establishing one of the biggest diamond labs in the Middle East. The announcement came during Qatar’s Conference for Gold and Jewelry.

The opening of such a lab is representing the state’s national vision 2030 based on targeting several international corporations in different fields, including jewelry ones.

Qatar’s national vision targets creating other national income from perse and non-oil resources.

Ahmed Alobaidli, one of the lab’s founders, said that the lab is dedicated to examining and categorizing diamonds based on their originality, quality, and material. In addition, it aims to guarantee the rights of the customers and create a specifically based observation methodology.

Alobaidli clarified that there are various international agreements needed to be imposed, as they will play a vital role in restricting the illegal diamond trade and extraction.

In the same context, Qatar Chamber revealed in a statement that the establishment of such a lab named Qatar was the first country in the MENA region for raising the awareness of the customers of diamonds.

The statement also highlighted that the lab contains the most upgraded equipment, and well-trained staff members for examining gemstones and diamonds, in addition to its credibility for authorizing gemstones.

Therefore, it is now the biggest private institution for authorizing gemstones which supports Qatar's international reputation in such field and backing its goal for being a global diamond trade spot.
