Despite their loss 0-1 to Zambia's Zanaco in the second leg of the CAF Confederation Cup (CC ) quarter-finals, Egyptian debutants Pyramids qualified for the semi-finals after winning 3-1 on aggregate.

The Egyptian club managed to thrash Zanaco with three unanswered goals in the first leg.
In the first leg, Abdallah Said swung a well-played cross into Zanaco’s penalty area, where defender Ali Gaber met with a powerful header to score the first goal for the Egyptian club.
Six minutes later, Mohamed Farouk doubled his side’s lead after a great play down the left from Abdallah Said, who scorched away from the Zambian club’s defenders whipping a shot, which was saved by the keeper, before Farouk hit the empty net with rebound.
Abdallah Said crowned his illustrious performance during the game after he netted the third goal for the Egyptian club when he converted from the penalty spot to send the keeper the wrong way.
It is worth mentioning that Pyramids will face either Horoya AC or Enyimba in the last four of the tournament.
Noteworthy, Egyptian giants Zamalek managed to lift the Confederation Cup title in the last season after defeating RS Berkane 5-4 on penalties.
