Pukki Scoops August’s PL POTM Award

Norwich City striker Teemu Pukki won the EA Sports Player of the Month award for August, following his remarkable performance in the Premier League.

Pukki, who made an illustrious start with his club this season, scored five goals and made one assist during the first four rounds in the Premier League.

The 29-year-old player scored a hat-trick against Newcastle United in the second round, as well as, he managed to hit Liverpool and Chelsea's nets.

He also became the tenth player in the Premier League, who managed to net in the first three rounds of the tournament.

The Finnish player becomes the first Finn to scoop the award since 2004, and the third one in the history of the Premier League after Sami Tuomas Hyypia, who won this award in 1999.

The other Finnish player, who scooped this prize in 2004, was Mikael Forssel. Pukki topped a six-man shortlist that also included Sergio Aguero, Kevin De Bruyne, Raheem Sterling, Roberto Firmino, and Ashley Barnes.

The winner of this award was decided by a vote of the public together with 20 club captains and a panel of football experts.

On Friday, September 6, the official website of the Premier League uncovered the six players, who were named for the prestigious accolade, which recognizes the best player over the last month.
