Salah Out of Shortlist for August's PL POTM

Liverpool star Mohamed Salah has missed out on the shortlist for the Premier League's Player of the Month award for August.

The official website of the Premier League revealed the six players, who were named for the prestigious accolade, which recognizes the best player over the last month.

The Premier League website noted that the winner would be decided by a vote of the public together with 20 club captains and a panel of football experts.

The six players, who are competing to win this award are; Sergio Aguero, Kevin De Bruyne, Raheem Sterling, Teemu Pukki, Roberto Firmino, and Ashley Barnes.

Aguero netted six times in the first four rounds of the Premier League, while Pukki, who plays as a striker for Norwich City scored five goals. Raheem Sterling, who plays as a winger for Manchester City scored also five times.

Barnes, who plays as a striker for Premier League club Burnley, scored four goals during, while Liverpool's forward Firmino scored only two.

Whereas Kevin De, who plays as a midfielder for Manchester City netted only one time and made four assists.

Liverpool, who managed to win the UEFA Champions League last season, ranked first with twelve points, while Man City came second with ten points. Leicester City took the third position after four rounds with eight points, whereas Crystal Palace ranked fourth with seven points.
