On Wednesday, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi received Moses Correa, the special envoy of the President of the Republic of Kenya, Minister of Investment, Trade, and Industry, who was carrying a message from Kenyan President William Ruto to his Egyptian counterpart.

In the message, the Kenyan leader expressed deep appreciation for historic relations binding her country with Egypt, Presidential Spokesman Ahmed Fahmy said.

The message highlighted Kenya's keenness to continue upgrading frameworks of cooperation with Cairo, noting that the African country is looking forward to benefiting from the broad Egyptian experience in carrying out mega development projects.

The message also pointed out the status and latest developments of joint cooperation between the two sides with regard to supporting the Kenyan endeavors to activate the continental free trade agreement between the three economic blocs (COMESA, East Africa, and South Africa), especially in light of the fact that the agreement was launched in Sharm El-Sheikh in 2015.

Egypt is also one of the first countries to ratify the agreement, as well as Egypt's current presidency of the COMESA assembly.

Meanwhile, Sisi said Egypt is proud of its distinguished historic relations with Kenya.

The Egyptian leader praised the momentum witnessed by bilateral relations in recent years, as well as the revitalization of joint cooperation mechanisms in various fields.
