President Sisi Raises Minimum Wage by 50%

President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi directed to raise the minimum wage by 50%, reaching 6,000 pounds per month.

Ahmed Fahmy, the official spokesman for the Presidency said that President Sisi issued important decisions to ease the living burdens on citizens.

Moreover, the presidential spokesman added that the President directed the largest urgent social package for social protection to be implemented starting next month.

Also, 15% increase in pensions for 13 million citizens at a total cost of 74 billion pounds.

- 15% increase in “Solidarity and Dignity” pensions at a cost of 5.5 billion pounds, so that the increase during the year becomes 55% of the value of the pension. 

- Raising the tax exemption limit for all state employees in the government and the public and private sectors by 33%, from 45,000 pounds to 60,000 pounds.
